A Tip for this weekend!
Want to know how to spot a competitive kickballer….. Check his/her feet. If they have on cleats, they’re serious. If they got on sneakers, you’re safe. Your tip for the weekend.
Rules of the week:
~Teams are to provide 3 members of their team for ref duty when assigned.
~The strike zone is 1 foot wide to the left and the right of the plate & 1 foot high. If the ball touches any part of that “3-D polygon” after it bounces twice, it is a strike. (Rule 1.02, Diagram 4)
~Runners must return to base when the pitcher has the ball on the mound. (Rule 15.01 for further clarification go to http://www.kickball.com/rulesfaq/#baserunning)

Announcements:
~Please be at the field at 2:00pm. T-shirts will be handed out as well as an opening day introduction. Teams “the Closers” and “Balls to the Wall” with be umpiring the 1st games of the day. Please become very familiar with the rule book.
~Alcohol; there is no alcohol allowed on the fields per park regulations.(http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/parks/parksinformation/eastrockpark.asp#regulations)
We want to be able to continue to use these fields, so please don't violate this regulation. (this goes for all of the park regulations)

Pictures
You want pictures, ok….. Take some and send them in then. Don’t worry, the Board will take some as well but, they can’t be everywhere and the best moments/pictures happen when you least expect them.
Final Thoughts
On a serious note, please when traveling home from where ever or when out having a good time somewhere, please be careful. Apparently after this past Sunday locally, its obvious that “not too kind people” just don’t care about the value of life anymore. Be Safe!!!
