Presidential Address

My Fellow Kickballers;

What a wonderful world of kickball we live in. Even though the East got swept during the cross conference challenge, part II (which brings the overall record to 11-1, ouch), There were a lot of close games this past Sunday. Actually, every game was close with a 1 point difference. We saw the might pink pirates come very, very close to being upset by the wreckers. We also saw the #2 Balls Deep machine come very close to suffering a knock out to Balls of Fury. If it wasn’t for the time limit, who knows what may have happened. Which brings me to my next point;

The games this past weekend were way behind schedule. It only takes one bad apple to ruin the day. The last game should have never started at 4:45; My apologies to those teams.

All games must start on time. No exceptions!!! If a team is not ready at their time slot, or referees are not in place, teams will start to accumulate paper forfeits. And rack up a total of 3 and you are disqualified from the playoffs.

There still seems to be some confusion on if we play 5innings or 6 and what about the time……. Here is the Presidential executive order!!!
All CT Ivy Division games shall consist of 6 innings unless falling into the below categories.
a) At the end of the third inning or at the end of any full inning thereafter a team losing by 12 or more runs may concede to a mercy rule loss.
b) The game may be called after 3 or 4 complete innings if there is no time to complete another inning within the allotted time of 45 minutes. Game-play time will be monitored by Board Members and enforced by the Head referees for that game. (Any inning that starts must be completed. The bottom of the final inning is unnecessary if the Home team is ahead. Teams deliberately delaying the game may be warned and sanctioned as necessary by the board and/or head referee.)
Teams will be granted a 15 minute grace period for that day’s first scheduled game(s), and a 5 minute grace period for any subsequent scheduled game(s). Failure to abide by this rule results in a forfeit.

Also
Head referees are required to;
keep an official score and settle all disputes between game captains.
Keep proper punctual time of the game.
Issue a 20 minute mark warning, and a 10 minute warning.
*A 6th inning is not to start under the 10 minute warning.*

Lastly; All referees are required to call a FAIR game. Do unto others as you will have them do unto you. Meaning, you would want to play in a fair umpired game so, when you ref call it fair. We are all out here to have fun. Remember, its just kickball!!!
