What a difference a week makes, huh? From people hiding under trees to stay dry
to people hiding under trees to stay out of the blistering heat of the sun. STL, evil as they try to seem, certainly tried to earned the Most Popular Team of the Week award (along with other teams) with their field 2 oasis: a tent offering shade, some food from them and others, and a cooler full of mighty tasty "gatorade" that they so generously shared...if your shirt was the right color.
And now for a bit of news from the offices of CT Ivy Headquarters:
In an attempt to step up our efforts with our contributions to Life Haven, there are a few upcoming projects in the works. I'm not at liberty to divulge all of the information I have acquired, but I can say that we will be starting a bottle drive of sorts. Each week there will be trash bags placed at both of the fields specifically for returnable - plastic juice and water bottles, glass bottles, and cans. These bags will be collected at the end of each Sunday session and all money collected from the cash-in will be donated to Life Haven. This will help to keep our impact on the field trash to a minimum and help others at the same time. These bags will be clearly marked, or should be anyway. Please remember these bags are for returnables only, all other trash should be put in the cans or taken out with you.
Well, nobody aced their predictions this past week, but I don't know that you could say there were any major upsets. Game results being what they were, the Inglorious Maroons have sole ownership of the top spot after posting two shutouts in a row. But can they get past The Leg? We'll have to wait two weeks to find out and they'll have two weeks to prepare. I can't wait to see if this one has Kharim spouting off about body bags or if it will be The Prez carrying on about the power of his pearl necklace! This game certainly has all the makings of a classic so order your ringside seats now...this one won't be available on pay-per-view! Until next time, see you on the playing field!
