Greetings Kickballers,
Well it seems the week off did some teams good (Blue Ballers) and other teams not so good (Fever). As the last regular season game approaches, you can feel the sense of urgency to win emanating from each bench. Every team is jockeying for position in the playoffs with the hopes of extending their season by at least one more week. All leading to the most critical game: The Championship. Yes, it seems everyone is looking forward to November 7 with anticipation, hoping that they will be the team to go head to head with the Inglorious Ballstards for the title of CT Ivy Fall Season Champion. Was that a grumble I just heard? A moan? Profanity, maybe? If you feel I'm being a bit presumptuous, then get out there and prove me, and them, wrong! [Please, somebody, prove me wrong!] But from what I can see, this team is not showing any sign of letting up. Yes, they made a bunch of critical errors last week and ended up in a tie with the Blue Ballers (and a returning, revamped Jillian), but they didn't lose. Oh, The Ballers of Blue tried their hardest, as did every other team that faced the Maroons this season, and they certainly put on a great show, but in the end, IB didn't lose. And, no I didn't lose any sort of bet, if you think that's why I'm going on about them. I'm just trying to get everyone fired up enough to actually get out there and put at least one loss in their record this season! 'Til next time, see you on the playing field.

“Kickball oh kickball, one more week to get in gear.
Kickball oh kickball, before the playoffs are here!”
What a great week! For some…Mafia, Uniballs, Kickelback, Ballers, Balls Deep, Wrecking and STL pulled off some great stuff on the field. A few games to discuss in particular include: 1. Ballstards vs. Ballers…what an awesomely wonderful game. Both teams were without some of their top players, which made for a really fair, well played, with lots of errors game. Both teams faulted, both teams scored, both teams cheered…oh wait, that was a lie. The Ballers were the only ones cheering, and playing ‘fair.’ I put fair in quotes, because what the Ballstards did was perfectly ‘fair’ just not all too nice. Getting a player out on purpose to start a kicking order a certain way; good or bad call? Confusing a player and a whole team; good or bad call? What is really funny is how this seemed to irritate the Ballers more than the Ballstards. Bump that…if my coach told me to get out on purpose, I would tell him to take that call and shove it up his…but that’s just me. What was great about this game was the ending; Theresa and Hannah on the ground…on top of one another…naked? No they had clothes on! Perverts. And how about the STL vs. Busters game? Who saw that one coming?! The Busters had some fumbles here and there, which ultimately cost them the game against this stealthy new team. Who knew Kharim could make it as a pitcher? Here’s a player with some dedication…some cockiness, but also some dedication. =] I think it must have been the food made by the players. If you didn’t try the chicken, you missed out. I heard the jello shots were good too…but after “a previous party the nite before” …they simply were not being had by me. And then there is the most talked about game thus far this season…Wrecking Balls vs TeaBaggers. Jeromy…pissing people off again?! No…who could have called that one?! In all fairness, I was told that to the NEWBIES I should explain what can easily come across as a**-h***-ness that is Jeromy…don’t worry we are friends. =] The rule book states that you are allotted 3 strikes, 4 fouls and 4 balls; well, when you have a good pitcher (or mediocre) they tend to usually do pretty well on the strike side…but in some cases, those strikes you aren’t ready for. In those cases (especially if you already have a strike or two) if you DON’T want to kick it, you should foul it. That way you don’t get out. Be careful when going up a good catcher though…they can catch those bad boys, and boy does that one hurt the ego. Been there, done that. So no hard feelings Teabaggers…the Wrecking Balls all told me they would buy you beer next week. (HA HA…now you have to do it WB). As far as those games I missed and those games to come…I do have a few words of wisdom. GO KICKELBACK! Love you WB, but, the orange are my ladies, and thumbs…of course. And Mafia, the Ballers hate you, because you are black, but we will be there cheering and hooting and hollering none the less for your black-selves…take those Bastards, I mean Ballstards down! And finally the #1 most attractive player team did some damage, beating Fever 3-0. Good job Uniballs. I look forward to one more week of damage with you kickballers before my team brutally beats all your asses in the playoffs…just saying. We are friends this week…enjoy it! And good luck to all…well, except Ballstards…I hope you lose.
